Barrier-free because everyone is welcome

Barrier-free travel — for people with disabilities, senior citizens and families with small children. Are you in a wheelchair? Perhaps you need assistance, support or nursing care during Interaction 23?

In Switzerland, public spaces are required to be welcoming to everyone. As a consequence, all venues open to the public offer optimum circulation within the buildings, access ramps and proper doors, adequate signage, and more facilities.

Barrier-free travel in Switzerland

Zürich Convention Center

The Convention Center offers a wealth of experiences to people with disabilities. Every room/space can quickly and easily be reached in a wheelchair, and wheelchair spaces are available. Inductive hearing systems make music and presentations accessible to guests with hearing impairment. We can also accompany blind or visually impaired people to their seats. Guide dogs are allowed to stay with guests at all times.

X-TRA

X-TRA is easily accessible for wheelchair users and people with walking difficulties. There is a flattened staircase to the right of the entrance (by the church garden). The concert hall is accessible by elevator. There is no platform in front of the stage during events.

We can accommodate early entrance for wheelchairs if requested three days before the event. A handicapped accessible toilet is available (in the foyer at the back left side by the emergency exit to the post office) – just contact the security.
A checkroom is available and freely accessible on the first floor, just behind the entrance.

There are no designated parking spaces for visitors with disabilities.

General Notes

  • Bathrooms in all the venues are accessible
  • Water will be available during the whole event.
  • All the venues are heated.
  • There is trained staff on site for emergencies and first aid.
