Zahra Bukhari

Zahra Bukhari is a designer and artist currently residing in the New Jersey/New York area. She recently worked as a Designer for GHD Partners, a design firm in New York City that focuses on designing for the built environment. Previously, she attended Rutgers University, Mason Gross School of the Arts, where she graduated with a BFA in Visual Arts with concentrations in Printmaking and Design as well as a certificate in Women’s Leadership.

After attending Rutgers, Bukhari went on to study Islamic theology and jurisprudence, receiving a certificate at the Karamah Institute in Islamic Law and Leadership. She continues to conduct independent research on Islamic feminism and Islamic art and design history, and hope to shed light and unveil some of the forgotten histories within the Islamic narrative.
